Phil Oncley, Ph.D. has earned a reputation in the local
medical community for being able to deal with a wide variety of child,
teen, adult and family problems. He specializes in complicated cases
that frequently include combinations of neuro, behavioral, academic, and
family issues. He believes that parent commitment and personal responsibility
are essential in achieving the most positive outcomes.

Dr. Oncley has trained
at some of the leading training institutions in Southern California including:
St. John's Child Study Center; Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center -
Inpatient Psychiatric Services; Fuller Child Development Center; College
Hospital Cerritos; and the Community Assistance Program for Seniors.
He served as Director of Psychology Services at La Palma Intercommunity
Hospital from 1998-2002. He currently chairs the Bioethics
Committee at La Palma Intercommunity Hospital.
Dr. Oncley holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from
Fuller School of Psychology in Pasadena, California (an American Psychological
Association Approved program). Dr. Oncley has an M.A. in Developmental
Psychology from Chapman University (focus on cognitive development and
adolescence) and an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary.
He received a B.A. in psychology from California State University, Long
Beach. He has presented research in the areas of adolescent cognitive
development, substance abuse, and behavior training in professional
journals and at regional professional meetings.
Dr. Oncley is a licensed clinical psychologist
in general practice in Los Alamitos and Newport Beach, California.
Specialties include diagnosis
and treatment of disorders of childhood, disorders of attention and impulse
control (ADHD), severe mood disorders (depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and
bipolar disorder), and treatment of relational difficulties for couples
and families.
